3, 4, 5 and then there is the 6th.
This blog entry is not typically what you would expect to see from an online vendor of TCGs, coins, art and so forth. We would be looked upon unfavourably by the masses if we were to depart from the norm of overanalysing the newest set coming out or unearthing and bringing to light hidden gems from underrated releases of the past. I am that guy that will go far from the norm because I feel it brings a fresh, unique touch to the business. What is this departure that I speak of? Gaming.
Gaming is huge but many individuals in the game of trading won’t venture into it for fear that it will taint their reputation. That is not to say that it doesn’t occur; there are a few businesses I’ve happened across in the past crossing over and joining this culture under their own business name but vast amounts of content creators tend to separate disparate business activities by creating other entities. A strong indicator of this trend is where content creators or influencers on YouTube make a brand new channel to bring you a side hustle that is completely inconsistent with their usual business activities. An example of this is BigDawsTV who is well known for his historical pranks. Recently though, he has promoted his passion for golfing on another channel. While these two activities are unmistakably distinct in character, one is intended to induce laughter and the other for sport enthusiasts, I can’t help to think that collectibles and gaming are inextricably linked. The move that GameStop took in May of 2024 to start buying and selling PSA-graded trading cards on top of the regular business of gaming strengthens this argument. Here in Australia, EB Games might not be dealing in graded cards but you can see the dovetailing with the two products speaking mountains about the coherent nature of gaming and collectibles.
One of the greatest franchises of all time, the Elder Scrolls, has been around since 1994 with The Elder Scrolls I: Arena and has won many accolades over its lifetime. With this 30th year anniversary and with the sixth expansion on the horizon, what better way to celebrate than running a marathon embracing the 3rd, 4th and 5th instalments, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim respectively. Over on Twitch and YouTube, I’m currently going all in on a 100%* marathon with the Elder Scrolls up until the sixth instalment arrives. You can easily get to these streams using the links on the navigation panel above under “LIVE” and either subscribe with the bell on YouTube or follow on Twitch to get notified when I go live. Join in on the shenanigans.
*100% denotes the desire to finish each game completely. However, undertaking certain questlines or actions prevents other questlines or active quests from being finished. Therefore, they are excluded from the 100% runs.
